It sounds like fraudulent use of a credit card which based on the amount would make this a third degree felony punishable by up to 5 years prison. Get an attorney as soon as possible.

Based on the amount, this is a Felony charge. The charge indicates the person used a false or altered credit card to obtain items above $300. If the person has prior offenses he/she may be facing a minimum amount of prison time up to a maximum of 5 years in prison.

Meet with an attorney (or apply for a Public Defender) to explore defenses to the charge. A Felony conviction for Fraud has far reaching consequences and should not be taken lightly.
