Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida

on probation and want to relocate

I am in my sixth month of an 18 month probation period. I am paid ahead on my monetary obligations. I want to relocate from florida to nevada. I was laid off from my job in florida and have a couple of positive job prospects in nv. what is the best way to approach this issue and what are my chances. The probation is for a felony (I don't understand how it works but it's considered felony for punishment but Apparently not the sort that i've lost any civil rights or that I have to disclose on any type of questioning. Make sense to you?

Makes sense. Sounds like the judge withheld adjudication, meaning you are not officially convicted of the crime. This is good news. The bad news is that it is generally reasonably easy to transfer probation to another state if you are adjudicated, but many states will not supervise you if you have not been adjudicated. Talk with your probation officer. Usually, he won't have any objection and can handle the paperwork. He may know whether NV will supervise you. If so, fine. If not, talk with a local criminal lawyer. There might be some way to arrange early termination of the probation. If there isn't, I suggest you wait it out. I certainly wouldn't go in and ask the judge to adjudicate you in order to transfer.
