i purchased a car and my daughter co-signed.

She was pulled over and detained by sherrifs who said they have probable cause that the car was bought with drug money.

She was not arrested,no drugs or paraphenalia found.

Car was seized.

I am an innocent third party and unable to get them to release the car ro me..

Do i file a civil lawsuit?

You need an attorney quickly to notify the sheriff you intend to make a claim on the car. You do have some rights, but you do need to talk with a local attorney. I am trying to figure out how they just seized the car.

You need to contest the forfeiture action. And you have limited time so I would hire an attorney quickly.
