Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida

Retail theft/Possesion of marijuana Juvenile

My daughter was arrested for retail theft and put into a diversion program, on the day of her 1st. diversion class she was arrested at school for posession of Marijuana. The Juvenile courts sent her file back through the system and that they will combine both charges together. As a parent what should I be prepared for? Her Miranda was not read to her when she was handcuffed and transported.

Re: Retail theft/Possesion of marijuana Juvenile

It appears that your daughter was given a pre-trial diversion program for the retail theft charge. This is given to first time offenders.

Once she picked up the new charge the original retail theft case is reinstated.

How the case is resolved now depends on a matter of things. How did the authorities discover your daughter in possession of marijuana? What is she accused of taking?

There are several things an attorney cas assist you with. I would recommend that you consult with either a private attorney or public defender in your area.
