Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida

Seeking employment in law enforcment

OKay I spoke to my local Sheriff and asked about a carrer in as a Deputy, I was charge with grand theft when I was 18 and he told me if shouldn't be to hard to either get the charge dropped back from a 3rd degree felony to a misdomeanor, I plead no contest and violated the probation and it was reinstated and transfered to north carolina, I paid all the fines got off and joined the military. The Sheriff told me he would have no problem with and he had seen it done before, I don't want a stupid mistake to ruin the rest of my life so I was wondering if there is anything I can do about it. And I was a with held adjudication of guilt the I was ajudicated guilty so they could transfer it, and I know you can have it sealed if you weren't so I guess my question is really is there anything else that can be done? Like having the old charge reduced or requesting from the governor to have it expunged or sealed or...? Any info will really help and I do have a connection to Jeb Bush if you would think it possible but not likely I just need to know who has the authority to do for me. Thanks :)

Expunging and Sealing are out since you were adjudicated. You probably should consider a pardon from Governor Bush.
