statue of limitations

when my husband was arrested in 1999, he said that when he

asked the arresting officer who was interagating him for a

lawyer and he was denied his rquest. what is the statue of

limitations on this? Thank you for any help you are able

to give me.

its hard to answer the question based on these facts. if some one is in custody AND being asked questions the officer must stop interogation if the defendant asks for a lawyer. if hes not in custody or not being asked questions he doesnt have to read miranda or provide a lawyer or stop asking questions. the statute of limitations really has nothing to do with right to counsel. the statute of limitations is how long the state has to bring a case after the crime is committed.
