Re: violation of probation

That's actually a tough one to answer, because so much depends on the judge. Some judges don't care about driving without a license, and other judges think it's a horrible charge. Getting a new charge, while on probation, is considered a substantive violation. Particularly after the 2nd violation, one is usually not looking at getting reinstated, but is instead looking at jail or prison time. If the bond is relatively low on the DL charge, you are correct that he would be transferred to the county with the hold for the violation of probation. Since he hasn't pled on the DL charge, that would also be beneficial. I'd bond him out if the bond is relatively low.
