Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida

Some woman is threatening to call the cops on me and I did nothing, she said I'm stalking her, but she's actually crazy herself. She said she's going to get me in a mental asylum. She already asking bunch of my friends to file police reports with her, all of my friends rejecting her. What should I do? Also, I'm afriad that her and her mother might file police reports or press charges, whatever it is, a false claim with nothing but lies and deceit. What should I do if that happens?

First thing you should do is stay away from her even if that means leaving a place you both happen to be at. Although she may be crazy, why risk an arrest due to this crazy woman. So it's easier to stay away from her than it is explaining to the police that she is crazy. Also, stalking is a somewhat vague statute and you could be charged even if there was no intent (Of course, to convict you without intent as opposed to charge you, is another story). Therefore, DO NOT TALK TO THE POLICE. That means do not think that your explanation will avoid an arrest. If they have enough evidence to arrest you, they will do it with or without your statement. I can't tell you how many times I get a phone call from people saying they gave a statement to the police thinking they would let them go, only to get arrested anyway. What they have done and what I'm explaining to you, is they helped make the state's case against them. So if the police want to talk to you, politely tell them that you do not wish to speak to them without an attorney present. Good luck.
