Legal Question in Discrimination Law in Florida

Do I have a claim?

I had been working for the company for 14 months. I needed personal time off of work. When I asked my employer when I could come back to work he informed me that he didn't have anymore time to give me any hours. He had hired another person during the week that I was in the hospital with my boyfriend. He told me that he didn't have anymore work for me.My employer and I had had some problems previously, he would take time off of my paycheck and the paycheck of the other employees who would not even bring it up to him. I however did ask him on several occasions about the missing time.I believe that my employer discharged me because in December I had called the home office to let them know about some employee theft that was going on. My employer talked to me about the call because he knew that I did it.I was the only one who could have. Shortly after that incident around the month I Febuary he took me off of the schedule because he knew that I would not let him take away time off of my paycheck without getting paid for it. I think my employer discharged me because in retaliation.DO I have a valid claim?

Re: Do I have a claim?

You may have a whistleblower claim and/or a wage/hour violation claim, but you really need to see an attorney who can go through the facts and timeline with you, to see if it's something you might want to pursue.
