Legal Question in DUI Law in Florida

Dumb Drunk Night

I live in Gainesville, FL, a college town. Last night a friend and I went to a bar and, without thinking, left the bar still holding our beers. Much to our surprise, there was a pack of police standing on the sidewalk who asked for our IDs and identified my beverage as beer (my friend put his down before the cops saw him). Also without thinking, I presented my brother's ID, which I used to get into the bar. I got arrested and left the station with three tickets: one for presenting another's ID as myself, one for drinking underage and one for having an open alcoholic container on the street. My court date is set for October 18th, I was planning on pleading no contest and suggesting community service. How do you think I should deal with this?

In a brief response to your question....Before you plead guilty/no contest, you should have an atty review the statute or review it yourself because some alcohol related charges by underage person can get your license suspended. I just answered a question in this area yesterday. Check that out if you wish. I'd explain more, but I'm in a hurry to get out of here now...and you're a Gator!!! Just kidding...I'm trying to help.
