Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

Hi, I have an 8 year old daughter. And my ex has custody of her.. she lives an hour away. I have been driving back and forth to pick her up and drop her off every other weekend. And every time i ask her to meet me half way..she always tells me that I'm the one legally responsible for getting her and dropping her off.. Is that true?? or does he have some responsibility? Since she is the one that moved so far away. I live in pinellas county Florida.

Was the issue of distance ever addressed in the final judgment? If it was, then that would govern travel arrangements. If it's an issue you wish to modify so that you can meet halfway, then you can file a Petition to Modify the Final Judgment. I would have an attorney write her a letter requesting a modification of the travel arrangements informally first to see if an agreement can be reached so that a stipulation on the FJ can be filed instead of doing a full blown modification petition. That would be quickest approach.
