Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

Child care payments

I have not seen or had any contact with my son in three years. My ex will not allow it. Is there a time when I no longer have to pay child support? Maybe the prospect of not getting money from me will soften my ex. ???? Thank you.

Re: Child care payments

In Florida child support and visitation are never connected. Do not fail to pay support or you may go to jail real quick. In order to get visitation you need to file a Motion for Contempt asserting your ex is barring visitation. You will win.
