Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

Child Support

I live in Florida and 2 years ago I found out that I have a daughter in Alabama. The mother is now trying to take me to court for child support and back child support, but she told me after the child was born that the child had a father and that he signed the birth cert. The child has this other guys name on the court order. Legally, can she get child support from me?

Re: Child Support

That depends if the child is yours. The first thing to do would bring a Court action to establish paternity. The Court can order all parties to submit to a DNA test which would give you the conclusive answer to who the father is of this child.

If you have any further questions, please feel free to e-mail me your telephone number and a good time to call as with more facts I can give you a clearer answer.
