Child Support

I am currently paying child support. If I have my daughter during the the summer, am I still rquired to pay child support even though she is living with me during the summer?Do I need to file some type of paperwork to suspend my payments while she is with me?

Re: Child Support

You must pay child support during the summer. Child support is annualized throughout the year, so the payments are spaced out, including through the summer.

If you have her for the whole summer, though, you may have her for enough time that you are entitled to reduced child support. You should check with a lawyer about that.

Re: Child Support

Unless your paperwork says otherwise you must pay, and the child support guidelines can take visitation into account, so a modification for visitation would be highly unusual. See your original divorce attorney to discuss whether your case justifies it.
