Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

Emergency costody hearing

Recieved letter by special delivery wednesday evening advising me that an emergency custody hearing would be held in Florida "I'm in GA" at 9:AM the following Friday "one day notice" I arrived at hearing ready to ask the judge for some time to obtain legal advice or a lawyer. Entered Judges chambers, myself, wife & her attorney. Before I was seated, Judge advises me that wife gets temp. custody of two and a half year old daughter. I pay $300. per mo. and with my living in Ga. pretty much cuts my chances of seeing my child down to zero. Can't afford att. and Judge never let me get a word in edgewise. Wife is unfit in my opinion, has endangered child's life more than once and can be proven. Was I screwed? And what can I do? Please help. I also believe that the attorney and judge are old pals.

Re: Emergency costody hearing

I recommend you talk to a Florida attorney ASAP. If you cannot afford one you should contact legal aid in your home town.
