Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

I gave custody of my daughter over to my parents in 2010 because I couldnt take care of her at the time because I was going through psychological problems and was in and out of hospitals. My father was my guadian advocate and signed off on all medications and treatments. While being proved incompentent by a judge and on 11 psychiatric medications they brought me to a lawyers office and told me if i didnt sign the adoption papers they would bring me to court. I didnt know what else to do. I ended up going back into the hospital. While i was there I was finally put on the right medications and the doctors told them that I could leave. My parents refused to let me come home and said i needed to go to a long term treatment center. On March 29th the adoption went through. On march 30th I was allowed home. I have now been out of the hospital for over a year now and living a very stable life. I am married and I am expecting another child. I was wondering if i had any case to try to get my daughter back.

At the time of the adoption was your father still your legal guardian? If so, there may be a potential conflict of interest, which might provide a legal basis to overturn the adoption.

If you opt to proceed without the assistance of counsel, be aware that you will not be entitled to a do over if things go badly.

An internet inquiry is no substitution for an in-office consultation with an attorney.
