my husband went though an attorney and had a settelment drafted, which I agree to, how do I go about responding to the court without incuring the cost of a lawyer?

If you are agreeing, then sign and return to the lawyer who sent it to you. Just remember, there are no do overs when this is before the Judge so read it with a fine tooth comb.
