Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

Husband collecting disability what are my rights?

We have been married for twenty five years, have a 17 year old daughter, and have accumulated some assets over the years. I would like to know what my rights are, since my husband is disable and unable to work. I have been out of the work force for a very long time and I am also unemployed. I would like to know if I'entitled to some of these assets under these conditions?

Re: Husband collecting disability what are my rights?

In this case there would be an issue of the minor child, alimony, equitable distribution to divide the assets and the debts of the marriage. Since your daughter is 17 one parent would be the primary residential parent and the other would have to pay child support. Alimony can be requested by either spouse. The award of alimony is a case by case basis. Your case would need further review to make a determination as to this award. Review my web page at attorney-4u.com for more information on the subject of divorce which includes, children, alimony and equitable distribution.
