Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

parental rights

I live in Miami, Fl and my ex -boyfriend wants to give up his parental rights to our 6 year old son. What do we need to do so that his rights are turned over solely to me?

Re: parental rights

The previous answer is a good one, assuming that you are married; the "we"may make it so.

You can also get the ex-boyfriend to sign surrenders and consent to the adoption under a Chapter 63 proceeding. Either way you may want to get an attorney to assist you.

Re: parental rights

You need to get married (if you aren't now) and have your new husband adopt your son. Your ex-boyfriend can't just leave his son fatherless.
