Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Florida

In 2006 I inherited a house from my parents. I sold the home and invested the money, approximately 100thousand, with a friends father before deploying to Iraq. He stated that the money would be put into low risk investments. Upon my return I discovered that he took all the money and invested it all into his own business in Georgia. Since that time I have not seen any of my investment. Multiple attempts were made to contact him however I either get no answer or a text stating he will call me later. Do I have any grounds to try to retrieve my inestment legally or am I just out of luck for making a poor decision?

I am not a Georgia attorney, but, assuming their law is similar to Florida law, you absolutely have a claim against him for these funds. You might even be able to impose a constructive trust on his business.
