Do I have legal right to my belongings
I recently had an argument with some family members I lived with where I was accused of physically grabbing my sister by the arms (which I did not do). I left the house to avoid further conflict. I then came back to the house with a police escort to gather some of my belongings. As I was gathering some belongings the police officer told me my Father has right to my belongings as long as there in the house. Is this true, do I have any legal right to get my things back?

If it is your property, it is yours. The fact that you left it at the house does not make it his.

You may, but a court order may be required.
