Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Florida

My mother-in law loaned money to 3 different people she is trying to collect. 2 were loaned on verbal agreements and were large sums of money and the third she has a signed letter to repay. What kind of legal action can she take to get her money back. Thank you.

She can sue for return of the loans. The proof will be more difficult on the oral agreements, but that doesn't mean she cannot sue.

Breach of Contract. Verbal agreements for "large sums of money" are difficult to prove.

In zip code 34482, it looks like you are in Ocala, Marion County. Look at the Marion County Clerk of Court website for information, instructions, and forms to file suit. Depending upon the dollar amount in controversy (under 5K, 5-15K, over 15K), your mom may need to hire an attorney to represent her in the action(s). Of course, there is also the matter of proof (evidence) which your mom will need to produce in order to substantiate her claim(s).
