Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Florida

Unabe to get any help on a Civil Forfeiture case.

I have a civil forfeiture case that steamed from criminal case. Someone had my familys car and my money (I have proof it was mine) and was arrested for drug trafficing the criminal case was later pleaded down to possession of an unknown substance (no drugs found) the guy did 71 days and walked away. I'm disabled and for the most part homebound. Dont do drugs except the 24 I take daily to stay alive and rarely leave the house but for hospital and doctors appointments. Im having difficulty understanding all parts of the procedures or the statures pertaining to my case. (In part do to my disabilities) I'm up against the City's lawyers and their unlimited resources and knowledge. I've asked the judge and several agencies for assistance but because drugs were involved in the original case no one will help.. Im sure the city attorney missed a notifying deadline early in the case but Im not sure what to do about it.. I have asked for mediation instead of court but the city attorney says I have to pay for a mediator. Or I can mediate with her and the police department. Im on disability and have trouble just making ends meet everyday how can I pay for help. What can I do?

I would try to find the funds to mediate. It is not that you have to pay for the entire mediator. The cost is shared among the parties. Try to borrow some money from friends or family. Your share should be about $200 or so.
