Legal Question in Insurance Law in Florida

Stolen mercedes benz

After 2 months time my insurance carrier has requested an examination to be done under Oath by their hired attorney. The police had no leads on my vehicle also it was left in a public shopping center during the Christmas holiday 12/27/08-12/29/08.Upon returning me and my wife checked several tow services we had no luck recovering the car yet. What are the pros & cons of having to do a sworn deposition ? During my wife's interview with investigator he ask her whom she suspected and she mentioned my ex-girl friend may have took the car.Now the insurance company was questioning my eligility( the investigator) USAA but my cars have been insured with since 11/2008 I'm a reservist with air national guard that was one the requirements for enrollment with USAA. Thank you please reply!!

Re: Stolen mercedes benz

An examination under oath is a common practice in the insurance industry. It is not as formal as a deposition and there are several procedural differences as well.

I would recommend that you consult with an attorney and establish an attorney client confidential relationship to completely discuss your situation.
