Legal Question in Employment Law in Florida

I have been with my agency since 1/06 and was transferred to my current work place within the same agency in 2008 not of my own accord. My manager and I got along very well until 6/2010

My manager has been employed with the agency for over 25 years. She has told many people including some co-workers that due to her longevity she is indispensable and her superiors would never question any of her actions. She has stated to me on numerous occasions that she has information regarding our director, and because of this, he would never reprimand or terminate her. There have been complaints lodged against her, unfortunately these complaints have been ignored.

In June, my manager demanded to know information which she had no reason or legal right to obtain. Due to the fact that I declined to divulge a clients personal information, she has created a hostile working environment for me.

I have become exceedingly stressed and nervous and unfortunately, my family is most concerned about my health. I truly enjoy my job and interacting with clients and instructors. But, it is becoming increasingly hard to maintain a positive attitude. The following is a list of my present employment environment:

Coworkers feel that they can not speak or be friendly to me for fear of losing their jobs, or would receive the same discourteous treatment as me.

The manager has sent me inappropriate, threatening e-mails stating that I am useless.

The manager has belittled and yelled at me in the presence of clients and co-workers.

The manager does not permit me to perform my duties which I have always completed in a timely fashion.

The manager ease drops on my telephone conversations and proceeds to make comments from her office while I am on the phone, or sends me emails regarding my phone conversations.

The manager does not adhere to the agencys guidelines.

The manager feels it is not necessary to introduce me to new coworkers.

The manager refuses to advise me of information that is required to do my job effectively.

The manager refuses to speak with me regarding important situations and will only communicate through email. On numerous occasions, she refuses to answer or does respond with inappropriate snide remarks.

Even though I go to work each day to do my job and I am friendly to her, she just makes remarks or grumbles at me. She finds it extremely difficult to even say "hello or good-bye". In today's economy, it is not easy to walk away from a position that gives me a salary and benefits. I have a family, mortgage and bills to pay. I don't think that someone should be able to get away with treating an employee like this. Even though I laugh and act like I am happy I am extremely stressed and mentally depressed about my situation. My family life is suffering because of my work situation.

I would be most happy to meet with you and show you evidence to back-up my

Claim. Please feel free to contact me at your earliest opportunity.
