I work for a technology company in Florida. I only negotiated salary when I came on-board less than a year ago. Our company is in a space and a position to be bought out so I just want to make sure that I would benefit from that purchase and/ or safeguard myself from being hurt in the process. Your situation probably depends on whether you have an employment contract. If you do the new company will be bound to its terms. If not you are an at-will employee and keeping you on will be at the discretion of the new company.
