Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Florida

I own a 4 apartment building in a multi-apartment complex managed by an apt. management company. I asked the company if I could move my son into one of the empty units. They told me it would be no problem. They had him come in to the management office and get the key, and he moved in. About 3 weeks went by and I was contacted by the management company saying they needed to run a credit and background check on my son. My son is on probation and his case his adjudication withheld. He has been in no trouble before, or after this incident. However the management company said they might not let him live there.

He has not signed a lease, and already has all utilities on in his name.

I own the building and want him to stay, what are my options?

If you own the building then you must have hired the apt. management company. If so, tell them, that is not needed. Otherwise, fire them and hire a new management company.
