Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in Florida

Care denied, no insurance

I need to know if there is anything that can be done when an insurance company refuses to pay for an expensive treatment for a fatal illness. The cost of the treatment for the medication is upwards of $40,000/yr and Dr.'s have refused to use the med. even though it will extend the life of their patient due to the factor of a non-paying insurance company. What are my options??
