Legal Question in Personal Injury in Florida

Florida Statutes 627.4137

I just received a request for my insurance info regarding a bar fight incident involving my adult son in a public parking lot. They ask for my home owners ins info and his auto insurance when his car wasn't involved. Do I have to comply? Does he have to provide his insurance information even though the incident didn't involve his car?

The law requires you to provide the information. Strange statute because there is no penalty if you do not do so. I hope you have advised your insurance companies, however, of the potential claim. If you fail to do so, you may lose coverage.

When people fail to provide me the required information, I just go ahead and sue them.
