Legal Question in Personal Injury in Florida

Liability Release

I agreed to pay medical bills for someone who was injured at my house. They want a lump sum from me and let me deal with my homeowner's insurance company for my reimbursement. Are the release forms I found on the internet binding, when notorized, and appropriate?

You should not rely on or take action based on this communication without first presenting ALL relevant details to a competent attorney in your jurisdiction and then receiving the attorney's individualized advice for you. Possibly. I do not know how much money is involved, but it would seem that you might be better off to have an attorney draft the Release so that it contains all necessary terms in the proper language in order to avoid having this person come back and later sue you. This is not the time to be frugal. It is like the plumbers who advertise that they fix the leaks your husband fixed.

Re: Liability Release

Depends on which form you use. Some are better than others. On a bigger issue, If you pay, you may not get anything from your homeowner's insurance company. CALL YOUR INSURANCE COMPANY IMMEDIATELY. THAT IS WHY YOU HAVE IT. LET THEM HANDLE THIS MATTER.
