Legal Question in Personal Injury in Florida

On March 15, 2012, previous landlord injured me by forcing himself through the front door. I filed a police report with the Orlando Sheriff's Dept. I have made numerous telephone calls in attempting to get a copy of that report. The detective repeatedly states the report still has not been typed up and nothing has been done. It is now approximately 5 months, and I still cannot get assistance. Moreover, the back injury I sustained has become increasingly painful and some days I am severely restricted in my physical activities. Do I have any recourse to get this police report done, or any recourse in recovery from landlord financially to help get some remedy to my injury? Thank you.

1. Request the report in writing. You indicate you have called on the phone, that is not the way to get it.

2. Hire an attorney to discuss the matter with you in detail. Waiting for 5 months without doing anything can have some negative implcations on your claims for personal injuries. Act quickly now.
