Legal Question in Personal Injury in Florida

Is it really neccessary to hire an attorney?

I was hit from behind at a stop light. I sustained back and neck injury and was treated by a chiropractor. The insurance company sent me to an independent medical examinor who stated that chiropractic services are not helping and reccommended I see a specialist for my injuries. He asked off the record if I had an attorney. He reccommended I get one...Why? The insurance company will pay the medical bills; will they not? What are the benefits of an attorney? How cost efective is this?

Retain an Attorney

I agree with what the other gentleman said. They have their "independent medical examiner." who represents their interests, not yours. The handle thousands of these claims daily/monthly/yearly. I reccommend an attorney to equalinze the playing field.

The answer to the question is because the insurance adjuster is there to look out for the interests of the insurance company not to look out for you. The adjuster will do everything ethically and legally possible to give you as little as possible. It sounds like exactly the kind of case where you need to hire your own attorney as soon as possible.
