Legal Question in Personal Injury in Florida

New Neighbors have made my home unlivable. What can we do?

I have lived in my house for 14 years. We have spent time and a lot of money making it handicapped accessable for our disabled child. We are in a situation that we cannot sell. My husband and I work nights to help with the bills since there is a 200 dollar a week shift differential and we desperately need the money. As it is we cannot afford our own medications, we barely hang on.

We sleep from 8am till 5 pm. Our home has 2 bedrooms and nowhere to sleep but there. Our longtime neighbor of 13 years died and a landlord bought the house. the driveway to that house runs two car lengths in front of the house then RIGHT under our bedroom window. Close enough to touch the car if its parked there. We have explained our situation to the landlord who assured us he'd explain to any renter.

He didn't. The new renter tells us he isnt going to stop living his life in order for us to sleep and hes putting in a basketball hoop for his kid right next to my disabled childs window.

We are no longer able to sleep. We cannot change shifts without losing a great deal of money necessary to live.

My husband and I both are suffering from stress which is making our individual health issues worse, and its impacting the health of our family.

you might check to see if the driveway meets the local code since it is so close to you, but other than that, I think you are out of luck as long as the noise level does not exceed the local restrictions.
