Legal Question in Personal Injury in Florida

Have a question ablout a matter concerning a few friends of mine. The aboard a friends fathers boat with several other people drinking, a younger female became quite intoxicated and lost her cellular phone and began striking my friend in the face while he was sitting at a table against a wall with another person next to him, she believed he had her phone. She had climbed on top of the table to reach him and to get her off he shoved her causing her to break her wrist. Now the owner of the boat has already had his insurance company sued over the matter and now she is sueing the guy she was hitting in the face that shoved her. So my question is what is his legal responsibility if any??

Your friend will need an attorney to respond to the lawsuit. You may be asked to make a sworn statement, in or out of court, depending on how far the case goes. His legal responsibility at the time, was to behave as a reasonable person. This includes not providing alcohol to a minor or visibly intoxicated person. His legal responsibility now will depend on the facts that can be proven as to the proximate and legal cause of her injury.

He needs to contact his homeowners insurance to see if it will cover this. Self defense seems like what he will argue.
