Legal Question in Personal Injury in Florida

Please help, question about package delivery

For christmas my girlfriends father mailed us a package, the package was worth $250, it was insured and shipped through ups. Instead of deliviring the package to the apartment number indicated, they brought it to the main office and an employee signed for it. No one ever notified us of the packages delivery, the apartment staff put the package in a closet where they put the packages, and someone took the package. No one ever let us know the package arrived. The apartment staff said ohh well, we're not responsible theres nothing we can do. UPS refuses to help because it was signed for by the apartment staff. Should i try taking it to small claims court or is there anything i can do about this, it ruined my families christmas. Please help

Re: Please help, question about package delivery

By accepting the package, the main office owed you reasonable care in storing and delivery. You can sue in small claims court for its provable value. Good luck.
