Legal Question in Personal Injury in Florida

I volunteer at the SPCA and I am on the Board of Directors. If, for example, we adopt out a dog and it bites the new owner and the owner sues the SPCA, does that mean that the suit is against each individual member of the board? Are we sued individually?

Our worry is that each one of us is liable for the actions of the animals we adopt out. Is there a form that could protect us?

How about if we know a dog bites, and does bite the new owner, and the owner sues the shelter?

You can put a waiver and/or assumption of risk in every adoption agreement.
