Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida

Back Yard debacle

My new house of less than 1 year had a septic tank issue. The drain field was damaged by an installation crew, and was discovered when we started having drain problems. The builder had crews come out to effect repairs. The repairs are complete and the back yard now consists of a mound, much higher than before, and is higher than the grade of the house. I am concerned about water egress issues into the house during our rainy season, but I am also concerned with the actual value of the house, as it is now the only one on the block with a huge boil in the back yard, making prospective buyers wonder what might be wrong under the house.

Is there any recourse for this, since the builder now claims that the grading should have been that way before we bought the house. I am sure I would not have bought the house if the back yard looked like it does now.

This isn't something you're going to be able to resolve on your own unless the contractor wants to give you money. You need an attorney. Feel free to contact us.
