homestead exemption

is the homestead exemption transferable outside the US? Can I buy a home in say UK?

The Homestead Exemption in Florida is based on the state constitution, and would not apply outside the state. No. Florida's homestead exemption from forced sale is only applicable to Florida property resided on as a principal residence. There is also an exemption from a portion of ad valorem real property tax.
