landlord tennant

i was told a law existed that if i were transfered from one location to the next that was in excess of 35 miles that i could be released from my lease agreement because of exigent circumstances.

I have never heard of such a law regarding releasing a tenant from liability on a lease. However, there may be an IRS law or regulation regarding reimbursement of moving expenses where the 35 mile distance comes into play. I recommend that you consult with an accountant and your employer re: the 35 mile issue and have an attorney review your current lease to see what rights you may have of early termination.
