Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida

I live in FL, moved out from my rental place after renting for 6 years this April 27,2012. Still did not receive my security deposit back (over $3000). What is the time frame that I suppose to receive it back? Do I need to start legal actions and what is my time frame ?

Yes and you are entitle to reimbursement of attorney fees. I handle these cases all the time.

Good luck.

They were to send you a letter concerning holding back some or all of the money within a period of time that has long passed. Their failure waives their ability to withhold.

You need to bring an action for recovery of these monies, though I would write the Landlord a letter to advise that if they don't return the money immediately you will bring an action. If they don't remit, then file. An attorney would be extremely helpful to you to handle this case.
