Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida

I live in Miami Dade County Florida. I have been in my home for 19 years. Back when I purchased the home, I was told that the easement behind my property if well maintained would not be taken back. The original fence ( Around the property) is still thre. Can the COunty just come in and tear down what I have to put up another fence?
