Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida

Protect property

I own property in Orlando and another in Ohio. Are they protected from seisure from a creditor if a credit card company comes after me for payment? I was removed as a cosigner from the credit card over a year ago but don't want to loose me houses. The other person is on the mortgage loan but not on the deed. I have made all payments toward the mortgage, not him. Thanks

Your homestead is protected from claims by creditors if you legally reside in it as your primary residence in Florida. You can only have one homestead, however, so both properties will not be protected.

Not if they obtain a judgment against you. I suggest you review the matter with me.
