I live in florida, I jointly own 10 acers of property free and clear with my ex-business partner.I would like to sell, but he does not. Question is can i sell my interest in the property with no problems? thanks.....

When two or more persons jointly own a piece of property and one joint owner no longer wants to own the property, the person wanting to sell may file a lawsuit known as a partition action. The court determines the value of the property and the amount that each person receives is partitioned between the parties.
