Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida

My sons father, my ex gave my son a care and it was put into my name, my son has since sold the vehicle to purchase another vehicle and now my ex is telling me he is going to have me served to pay and take me to court for the money my son recieved?? Can he do that? The car was in my name but now that we are not together everything he ever gave either one of us he is making an issue about. He is threatening to have the courts take my car in lieu of the money he believes is his?? Does he have a leg to stand on? He says he went to the court house and I will be served on Friday??

It's hard to answer this without knowing all of the facts and the allegation in his complaint. You will have to go to court and tell them your side of the story. It sounds like it was your car and titled in your name. Unless you had an agreement in writing it will be his word against yours.
