Legal Question in Tax Law in Florida

Tax refund

I recently had my taxes prepare by a local tax firm and they sent my refund to a different routing and account number other than the one I gave them. He sent it to one of his clients account by mistake. The account holder was notified of the funds that was mistakely deposited into her account, but has since withdrawn all funds from her account according to my tax preparer who had spoken with the bank of the account holder. How do I go about getting my funds back?

Re: Tax refund

Assuming all the facts are as stated and that they are true, it seems relatively clear that it was your return preparer who caused the problem by sending your money to the wrong person. If it were me, I would pursue the return preparer, as he/she has admitted to making the mistake. Let them pursue the third party account holder.
