Legal Question in Traffic Law in Florida

I got a charge of "DRIVING VEH. WHILE IMPAIRED BY ALCOHOL" in the state of Maryland. This is below a .08 BAC. After the incident, Florida (where I have my drivers license) revoked my privilege. They treated it as if I had gotten a Driving while intoxicated charge. When I ask them they told me that they use the closest law they have to the law I broke out of state to determine their actions concerning the incident. That law, in Flordia, is DWI which is being OVER .08 BAC. Is this legal?

Yes but you should be able to have a hearing in order to explain the differences in the state laws. It is advisable to get an attorney to do this.
