Legal Question in Traffic Law in Florida

Speeding in a car with dealer plates

I was going 60 something in a 50...i was driving a car with dealer plates because my car was in the shop. My car has been in the shop about 5 or 6 times within the first 2 weeks of getting it. The dealer gave me a rental for a day. The car was a piece of crap, and the speedometer was broken. I cant prove that it was broken because the car has since been sold. But because my car has been in the shop so many times, and they wouldnt give me a car to use that is better than the car they sold me is there any way to prove my innocents? I have had other tickets 1 for speeding 59 in a 50, 1 for careless driving and 1 for failure to use signal...the only thing is, ig ot those tickets in NJ..this offense was commited in florida, where i have a clean driving recored. IS there any evidence or any information i can provide to the court to get them to dissmiss this case?

The fact that you didn't know that you were speeding doesn't mean that you are not guilty. However, if you can convince the judge that the speedometer was broken he might withhold adjudication. This would mean that you wouldn't get the points on your license. Also, be aware of the class you can take, to avoid the points.
