Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Florida

Acceptable uses of money for estate use

I am in the middle of a legal dispute with my sister who is older than me re: my deceased mother's estate (I was the POA and Personal Rep). Am I allowed to use her funds to rent a car if I didn't have one available, to visit/care for my mother. Also, are telephone calls made on my phone bill that were used for her care, etc. acceptable?

Re: Acceptable uses of money for estate use

There are many details needed before your questions can be answered with accuracy. For instance, what is the nature of your legal dispute with your older sister? What are the provisions of the Will, if any, and what was your legal status vis-a-vis your mother (guardian ad litem, etc.) before?

You would be well advised to contact a local attorney and ask your questions again, but have all copies of relevant documents with you so that he might examine them and give you an informed response.

Good luck.
