Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Florida

My brother died recently and did not leave a will. I cannot afford a lawyer as he didn't leave much and I am on a fixed income. So I talked to a legal aid and she said I could file the paper work myself. Yesterday I got a letter from the circuit court judge telling me I HAVE to hire a lawyer. The probate court accepted my paper work and cashed my check. Why did they do that if I HAVE to have a lawyer?

the Clerk's office does not give legal advise. Since you went to legal aid - go back and let them handle the rest of it.
