WHeRE IS THE MONEY
A FRIEND Passed away and left a stock portfilo to my children nameing them as benfeciary .when we checked the will that is in probate none of his nearly 3 quater millon dollar portfilo can be found on it .WE HAVE TRIED To call his family but get no reply.how do we locate it.

How do you know that he left the stocks to your children? Did he give you anything in writing? If you know the name of the brokerage firm, call them to see whether your friend named your children as pay on death beneficiaries. If you do not know the name of the company, you may have to do some tedious research. Normally, the company should contact the beneficiaries when it learns of the account owner's death.
